Who this is for

Creators, research teams, brand owners, publishers, franchise operators and intellectual-property departments.

The operational challenge

Creative files, brand registrations and licence agreements sit in separate systems. Teams struggle to identify the approved version, the permitted use and the person authorised to approve a change.

Applications to evaluate

Intellectual and commercial property
  • Work passports linking authorship statements, file fingerprints and dated versions.

  • Brand portfolios connecting registration references, authorised users and renewal milestones.

  • Licensing records by territory, channel, duration and permitted use.

  • Franchise and distribution records linking agreements to approved brand assets.

  • Rights-review rooms for due diligence, assignment and dispute documentation.

A proposed workflow

  1. Step 01

Identify the work or brand, the declared rights holder and supporting references.

  2. Step 02

Fingerprint the approved version and keep original files in protected storage.

  3. Step 03

Record the permission, reviewer, territory and licence dates.

  4. Step 04

Share a scoped verification view and track amendments, expiry or disputed claims.

A passport for every creation

Connect a design, software release, research output or media asset to its contributor statements and version history. A fingerprint helps detect a file change; the supporting records explain who submitted it and why.

Permissions people can understand

Make the permitted use, exclusivity, geography and duration easy to review. Keep financial terms private, record both parties’ approvals and flag conflicting or expired permissions for a responsible reviewer.

A connected brand portfolio

Link trademarks, domains, product designs and approved packaging to source registration references. Teams can trace which artwork a distributor or franchisee was authorised to use and which version replaced it.

Evidence for decisions

Prepare a scoped dossier with source files, agreement versions, approval events and corrections. Rights registration and legal decisions remain with the competent authorities; RMZ organises the supporting evidence.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does a blockchain record register a trademark or patent?

No. A digital record references evidence and its history. Registration, protection and enforcement follow the competent authority’s process.

Can confidential designs stay private?

Yes, the workflow keeps original designs and agreements in access-controlled storage. Only approved verification fields are shared; sensitive or unpublished identifiers should remain private too.

How are commercial rights transferred?

Record the approved agreement, parties, scope and effective date, then update the permission history. A technical record alone does not transfer legal rights.
