A clearer history for every gold bar.

Keep the serial number, assay reference and custody history connected. Give each handover a record people can check.

A gold bar linked to a digital passport

The problem: disconnected claims

A refiner, custodian, distributor and buyer often hold different records about the same item. The Digital Gold Passport brings origin, assay and custody references into one verifiable history, while physical inspection remains the basis of authenticity.

Roles for prospective participants

The refiner identifies the item and production batch, an accredited laboratory reports methods and results, the custodian records receipt and release, and logistics providers record handovers. Each party signs only its own statements.

A workflow with physical checks

An authorised issuer links each item identifier to reviewed evidence, then records approved custody events and status changes. Relabelling, substitution, missing items and weight differences trigger an exception for human review.

Boundaries before commercial use

The passport records evidence; it does not confer title, certify reserves or guarantee purity or returns. Trading, financing, custody and redemption services are delivered by licensed partners under their own agreements and permissions.

REFERENCE VERIFICATION

One asset. Different responsibilities.

Switch perspective to explore the permission model using controlled test data. Production use requires approved identity and authorization policies.

Reference viewing role

Limited verification. No personal data.

The reference record displays its identifier, recorded attributes and technical-review status. A QR or NFC tag can open the record after the physical link and anti-cloning controls are approved.

Custody and inspection references

  1. Issue: the test issuer creates the reference identifier.
  2. Inspection: test reference ASSAY-TEST-01 is recorded.
  3. Custody: a test handoff is recorded between pseudonymous organizations.
  4. Review: the status remains pending operational approval until supporting evidence is complete.

Contracts, party identities and inspection images belong in restricted off-chain storage. Transfers require authorized parties and do not automatically establish legal title.

Evidence first. Decision second.

An authorized reviewer compares inspection results, signatures and custody continuity against the approved policy, including exceptions such as cloned tags, expired inspections, weight mismatches and disputed custody. This screen uses a test inspection record.

The role model defines permissions for laboratories, manufacturers, merchants, logistics providers and relevant authorities. Each role is activated only under lawful authority and an approved implementation scope.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Does the passport replace physical inspection?

No. Physical inspection and accredited assay remain the foundation. The passport makes their results traceable, current and easy to verify at every handover.

Does the passport replace the laboratory or custodian?

No. Physical inspection, assay and custody remain responsibilities of appropriately qualified parties. A digital record can reference their statements but cannot independently perform or guarantee their work.

Are partners already participating?

Each programme is set up with the participating refiner, laboratory, custodian and logistics partners, with roles, scope and responsibilities agreed in writing.
