Who this is for

Security operations teams, facility protection departments, critical-infrastructure operators, evidence custodians and authorised auditors.

The operational challenge

Incident files, equipment handovers and access approvals are scattered across logs and inboxes. Missing context makes it difficult to establish who handled an item, which evidence was reviewed and when a decision changed.

Applications to evaluate

Security sector
  • Evidence custody records with signed handovers, seals and exception history.

  • Equipment passports for issue, inspection, maintenance and return.

  • Time-bounded contractor credentials and reviewed access approvals.

  • Incident dossiers connecting source reports, authorised reviews and corrective actions.

  • Scoped audit exports and recovery records for controlled environments.

A proposed workflow

  1. Step 01

Classify the record and identify the authorised owner and permitted participants.

  2. Step 02

Capture source evidence in protected storage with integrity checks.

  3. Step 03

Approve each handover or access change and record exceptions.

  4. Step 04

Review the complete timeline, export permitted evidence and apply retention policy.

Custody from collection to review

Record the item identifier, collector, seal condition and each accepted handover. Preserve discrepancies and corrections so investigators can distinguish an original observation from a later review.

Equipment with an accountable history

Link devices, safety equipment and operational assets to issue receipts, inspection dates and maintenance evidence. Make overdue checks and unresolved handovers visible to the responsible team.

Access for a defined purpose

Design credentials around the facility, task and time window. Separate request, approval and audit roles; revoke access promptly and record emergency exceptions for later review.

Private by classification

Keep incident content, identities and sensitive locations off public ledgers. Define deployment isolation, key custody, logging, backup and recovery with the organisation’s authorised security team before connecting operational systems.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Is sensitive evidence visible in the public explorer?

No. Public network activity and protected organisation records are separate. Sensitive files and access decisions belong in the authorised private environment.

Does this include public surveillance or automated enforcement?

The sector workflow focuses on evidence integrity, equipment records and accountable approvals. Surveillance, identity matching and enforcement are outside this workflow.

How are disputed handovers handled?

Keep the original event, record the disagreement and supporting evidence, and route it to an authorised reviewer. Corrections add a traceable event rather than silently replacing the history.
